The Mrs. Julie Branson Memorial Scholarship

The Oakdale School Foundation would like to invite past Oakdale graduates to apply for the Mrs. Julie Branson Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was previously known as the OSF Rising Rocket Scholarship.

Mrs. Julie Branson was a beloved 3rd grade teacher at Oakdale that passed away unexpectedly in January of 2016. She had a clear passion for teaching students that she dearly loved by nurturing them and helping them grow to become successful students in and out of the classroom. Her encouraging words, laughter and her giving ways will never be forgotten by those that were so fortunate to have known her.

Each year, the OSF reviews applications from Oakdale graduates to award one deserving senior a $5,000 scholarship, funded by proceeds of our annual events and generous donors. Recipients exhibit outstanding character, leadership and extracurricular activity achievements. If you know of an Oakdale alum who is graduating high school this Spring and has plans for higher education, please encourage them to apply for a chance to become our first recipient of the Mrs. Julie Branson Memorial Scholarship.

We hope Mrs. Branson’s joyful spirit and love she had for each and every one of her students will continue to live on through this scholarship in her name for many, many years to come.

If you know an Oakdale alum who is graduating high school this Spring and has plans for higher education, please encourage them to apply here for a chance to become our new Mrs. Julie Branson Memorial Scholarship Recipient!

Feel free to contact us with any questions.

Thank you and good luck!
